The average home buyer spends 96 minutes viewing properties during their search for a new home - that's less time than we spend choosing a holiday.
To make sure you get the most out of each viewing, here's a sound househunting tip from one UpMyStreet user - share your own tips below.
Lynne, Benfleet: "Forget the decor - square footage was the most important thing I looked at when I was househunting. That, and the location - it was absolutely vital that I was close to transport links for work, and there that was a decent local round the corner!"

Take a compas to be sure what rooms and what part of the garden gets the sun. On grim winter days and in the evening, vendors can be less than truthful about such issues.

To check the floor plan/size of a room that has furniture in it just lay down in the middle of the room on the floor and look at the ceiling.
The ceiling is most always the same/similar shape as the floor is.
Ask the vendors permission first incase he/she thinks you are a little confused!
