I totally agree with Ian and pity your views on this subject. If people weren't so narrow minded and selfish then it would not have come to this in the first place. China is a place where they don't even have freedom of speech and you's think it would be a good idea to start adopting there policies, and they are also one of the worst polluters. We are now being educated on the effect of global warming and other means of making energy so we can begin to get out of this mess without turning into a country where we cannot fully live out free will.

I agree with Ian and Danielle. This is a deeply frightening thread that I've stumbled on by accident. Maybe a successful career move would be to become a fascist dictator: with drones like these who knows how many genocides I could incite.
"China is all about discipline which is something that this country does not have". Nice one Lynda, put on your jackboots, we're going to start a coup.

You right-wing, paranoid nutters are doing a great job of colonising the Web. It isn't long before any discussion degenerates into this sort of rubbish. I came here to check average house prices and skidded on your bilious rants smeared all over the page.

How about you taking some responsibility for yourselves? It's possible that not all of your problems are down to immigrants and people on benefits.

I pity you in your sad, hate-filled little worlds.

Last year I went on a Caribbean cruise, and before you jump down my neck I worked hard for it, having never been unemployed in the 39 years since I left school. On board were a family, man, wife and five unruly ferral kids. My first encounter, they were in the cabin next door to me, was to hear them verbally abusing staff, because they wouldn't give them a free upgrade to a bigger cabin. The parents spent all holiday in the bars, continually worse for wear. whilst their kids ran wild abusing staff and passengers accordingly. At the end of the holiday, they were in the bar bragging that the holiday had been entirely funded from the benefits they receive for their kids, he was quite happy to divulge he hadn't worked since leaving school, but the killer was when he leaned over to his wife and said, "Lets do this again next year" and she replied that to afford it she would really have to get pregnant again

haha, i work on ships, you should have had a word with the Captain and left them in a country where they might learn a few things, Guatemala would do!
I don't pay income tax because i'm out the country for over 6 months of the year, and although i value our public services, when i get a pie chart through the door telling me 90p of every pound goes to the lazy scroungers, i feel a bit better.

Why should any of us have to pay for other people to breed kids? In the last 50 years the population has gone from 2.5 billion to 6.7 billion - not exactly short of kids are we!!!! If you want kids then you should have to pay for them yourself and stop stealing off the rest of us. You're doing enough damage to the planet and to every other species of life with your selfish indulgence of recreating yourself ( several times over no doubt!) and then the rest of us have to pay for the environmental damage you casue as well as pay you to casue it in the first place!!!! If you can't afford kids - without any state aid at all - you should not have them. By the laws of God and Nature - very convieniently excluded from our city led cultures - if you were not able to create your own wealth to survive you would perish, with so many people on the planet and perhaps we should go back to the sane ways of God and Nature! How dare you whinge about how tough it is on benefits - you're alive aren't you, so say thank you to thoes of us who pay the bill! At least we do - niether God not Nature would!

You come across a very selfish little Southern Englander of limited foresight. There are not enough kids being introduced to the world in Europe as and as we grow older there is not enough to support the growing older populalation. But no doubt you are OK... until the economic crash and the pensions collapse and the pending flooded southern counties, rising energy costs etc...

Hi Meryl,
I think your idea of doing things like China where they allow one child per family is fantastic, however, for that to work in this country, there needs to be discipline, not only from the young people but also from the politicians. China is all about discipline which is something that this country does not have. I also agree that this world is in ruins and I blame human behaviour. If you think of birds they migrate when they are ready but nothing changes they don't suddenly change their habits when they feel like it. The point I am trying to make is that humans are supposed to be intellegent because we can talk, reason etc; and this is why we are superior to animals. Animals are intelligent quite ok but the errors that humans make their way of thinking and reasoning are unbelievable. The idea behind filling the world with people is so that we can all get along, work together and use our intelligence to improve the world

Hi Why do you think that humans are superior? Only because we are capable of growing beyond natural limits and destroy the environment and animals can't?
