Achievement & attainment results
The examination figures displayed are those obtained by the Scottish Qualifications Authority.
We’ve chosen to display two education indicators.
They show cumulative attainment by the end of a school stage. For example, figures showing attainment by the end of S4 (age16), may include results of courses completed by pupils while they were in S3.
N/A has been inserted instead of figures for some schools and categories.
- Counts and percentages based on data for more than 0 but fewer than 5 pupils are not printed because they could be misleading or lead to the identification of individuals
- In other cases, it is not possible for the school to have any data for the category, for example:
- S5 and S6 results for S1-S4 schools
- S4, S5 and S6 results for S1-S2 schools
- Cases where the relevant year group roll figure is zero
New indicates that the school has recently opened or merged with another school and this information is not available.
These results should not be considered in isolation when choosing a school for your child. They should be considered alongside other important factors such as the quality of the learning experience and the school ethos.

Many independent schools offer GCSE and A levels so you should treat their figures displayed here with caution.
Please note that some independent schools, and schools which are designated to receive pupils from S1–S4 schools to continue their education in S5 and S6, take in significant numbers of pupils at S5. This has the result that staying on rates and exam results in S5 and S6, which are calculated on the S4 roll the previous session, can be very high, over 100% in some cases.
