How safe do you feel in your neighbourhood?

Since September last year, people have been discussing how safe they feel in their local area on this page.

Crime is a thorny subject, and not something anyone likes to think about. But with ongoing campaigns in the media, and the decisions we need to make when moving, it's not something anyone can escape. Tell us how safe you feel where you live.

Can anyone give me idea about Little Hulton in Manchester. We are buying a property in the area. Is there any no go area! how safe is the area? Thanks

C (Harrow) Little Hulton is known as Little Beruit. I live there and would strongly advise against moving to the area. The local yobs run riot, thats to hopeless Police and a local council that couldnt care less. I'm moving out asap, and it wont be a day too soon.

Does anyone know what the overall area is like in totnes devon? many thanks

Carol, As a whole Devon has a generally lower than UK average crime rate. I'd certainly be more worried about moving to guildford than Totnes.

Torquay and Plymouth are probably the worst of areas of Devon for crime

Totnes does seem to attract an 'alternative' type of person. It locally known as a bit of a hippy town. where everyone goes after Glastonbury!!!

you might get the odd smell of cannibis or your bike stolen but serious crime is not really associated with Totnes.

hope that helps
