Sky Digital were keen to maintain their position as market leaders - by attracting new customers, retaining their existing business, and even winning back former subscribers. With its reach and reputation and the site’s emphasis on home and local decision-making, UpMyStreet proved an excellent match for Sky’s innovative online strategy.
Two key areas on the site were identified where a rotating, refreshable image could stand out and keep a strong message going out to both regular UpMyStreet users and incoming search engine traffic. Firstly, Sky sponsored the main FindMyNearest… channel. Sky then used the Map sponsorship position on the UpMyStreet overview page. In the final stage of a six-month campaign, we enabled Sky to target specific regions outside London - whilst continuing Map sponsorship to saturate remaining map users.
Sky used UpMyStreet repeatedly throughout 2004 and are discussing plans with us for further integration and product targeting in 2005.
